Bike Hits Pedestrian in Telungupalayam: Head Injury, Case Filed Against Youth

A 55-year-old pedestrian Nagaraj suffered severe head injury when a bike lost control and hit him on Telungupalayam road in Coimbatore. West Traffic Investigation Wing has registered a case against youth Shankarritham and investigation is underway.


Coimbatore: A pedestrian suffered severe head injuries after being hit by a speeding bike that lost control on Telungupalayam road in Coimbatore, causing widespread shock in the area.

Nagaraj (55), a resident of Muthaiya Udaiyar Street behind Telungupalayam Perumal Temple, was walking along Telungupalayam road near Vasavi Mitra Mahal the day before yesterday. At that time, Shankarritham (29) from Sarojini Street, Thillai Nagar, Selvapuram, was riding a two-wheeler from north to south direction when he suddenly lost control of the vehicle.

The out-of-control bike violently struck Nagaraj who was walking on the road. The impact caused severe head injuries, and he began bleeding profusely. Bystanders immediately rushed to his aid and transported him to a nearby hospital for emergency treatment.

Nagaraj is currently admitted in the hospital receiving intensive care for his injuries. His wife Geetha (45) filed a complaint at the West Traffic Investigation Wing police station regarding the incident.

Based on the complaint, the West Traffic Investigation Wing police have registered a case against the two-wheeler rider Shankarritham who caused the accident. Police are conducting an intensive investigation into the incident to determine the exact circumstances that led to the loss of vehicle control and the subsequent collision.
