With an intention that its members units should get the best out of testing activities, a new testing facility has been built inside the premises.
Coimbatore: SITRA has set up a dedicated laboratory at the 'SISPA' premises for the benefit of its members. V Soundararajan, Past President of 'SISPA' and Managing Director of Ellen Textiles P Ltd, Coimbatore inaugurated the facility today.
The South India Textile Research Association (SITRA) is well known in the textile industry as a research association that carries out various activities for the benefit of the industry.
The various activities of SITRA include research works on various problems relating to the textile industry with a view to reducing cost, improving quality, and ensuring optimum utilization of materials, machines, and manpower in the country.
More than 500 studies have been carried out in applied research, which has been the biggest strength of SITRA.
The South India Spinners Association (SISPA) has been in the forefront to take up with the concerned governments regarding various issues that plague its members. With an intention that its members units should get the best out of testing activities, it had approached SITRA with a request to set up a testing facility at its premises.
'SISPA' President Murugesan welcomed the gathering. Dr Prakash Vasudevan, Director, 'SITRA' delivered the Inaugural address.
S Jagadesh Chandran, Vice President, 'SISPA' delivered the Keynote address. Guest of Honour T Rajkumar, Chairman, The Confederation of Indian Textiles Industry (CITI), New Delhi andJ Thulasidharan, President, Indian Cotton Federation (ICF) Coimbatore delivered their special address.
Later Guest Speaker Dr Kavidasan, Director, Roots Industries India Ltd delivered his special speech. A technical session was held in the afternoon wherein technical experts of SITRA presented the following 3 papers: J Selvan and N Vijayakumar, Vice Presidents, R Arun Karthik, Joint Secretary, N Pradeep, Hon. Treasurer, Past Presidents of SISPA, Office Bearers of other associations, and many SISPA members, SITRA’s Head of the Department and Staffs were present.
J Venkatesh Prabu, Manager organized and co-ordinate the event. G. Venkatesan, Hon. Secretary, 'SISPA' delivered the vote of thanks.
