AIADMK-BJP alliance must be defeated to protect Tamil Nadu people - G Ramakrishnan, CPM
Coimbatore: CPM G Ramakrishnan said, AIADMK-BJP alliance must be defeated to protect Tamil Nadu people. The meeting of the Marxist Communist Party was held in Coimbatore todaychaired by the party's All India General Secretary, Sitaram Yechury. He held a press conference on the party's role and alliance in the forthcoming elections.
G. Ramakrishnan, a member of the party's general political leadership committee, told reporters that the first round of talks had been held with the DMK committee and negotiations will take place. He said they will form an alliance based on the strategies and policies that may be present in each election at certain times.
He said, "We have formed an alliance with the DMK to defeat the AIADMK-BJP alliance to protect the people and culture of Tamil Nadu in this election. The AIADMK-BJP alliance lost the parliamentary elections. We are constantly talking about the problems of the people in Coimbatore district. The Marxist Communist Party will continue to give a voice to the people."
During the meeting, Coimbatore MP P.R. Natarajan, District Secretary Ramamurthy and many others were present.
