Election Commission of India recently announced the state-wide assembly elections dates in the states of Tamilnadu, Kerala, Puducherry, West Bengal and Assam.

In this the election for Tamilnadu, Kerala and Puducherry is scheduled to happen on April 6th 2021. Meanwhile the Election Code of Conduct is at place in the 3 states.
Since Kerala and Tamilnadu are facing elections on the same date, police high officials from both Coimbatore and Kerala participated in an advisory meeting in Kozhipara District, Kerala regarding the security details in both the states.
Coimbatore District Collector Rajamani, District Superintendent of Police Arularasu, Palakkad Collector Joshi Mrunmayi Sasank, Palakkad Superintendent of Police Vishwanath, Thirusur District Collector Shanavas and Thirusur Superintendent of Police Poongulali participated in this meeting that happened today.
Further, the officials spoke about the additional security against the maoists roaming in the forest areas of both states. Discussion was also made to contain election violations in both states by involving in additional vehicle check-up.
Along with the District Collectors and SP's, Forest Department Officials and Revenue Department Officials from both states took part in this meeting.
