Coimbatore: Coimbatore DMK East Secretary Karthick MLA issued a press release todayagainst extending the work order of retired Coimbatore South Zone Assistant Commissioner Ravi.
He stated that "Coimbatore Corporation South Zonal Assistant Commissioner Ravi has been continuously placed in this position for the last 5 years. Ravi who was a retired official got his duty extended for two consecutive years in 2018 and 2019.
However his duty has been extended again on 30th June 2020making him remain in the same position for 3 consecutive years.
Coimbatore South Zone Assistant Commissioner Ravi has been behaving like an unofficial AIADMK member by acting upon Minister SP Velumani's orders.
Assistant Commissioner Ravi has been using the government appointed staff and workers against the election code of conduct by helping AIADMK party members distribute gifts and cash to cover voters.
SP Velumani is using the retired government official to be in service for three consecutive years which is against the regulations of election commission.
On behalf of DMK East Zone members, I urge the Election Commission to take immediate action against such incidents." Karthik MLA said.
