Coimbatore: Parties allege invoice provided by the district administration is high in the consultative meeting with recognised political parties on Assembly election expenditure in Tirupur.
As the Assembly elections is to be held on April 6, District Collector Vijaya Karthikeyan, the District Returning Officer for Tirupur chaired a consultation meeting with the recognised political parties at the District Collectorate to know about the candidates and parties contesting the Assembly constituencies in Tirupur District and the expenses incurred by the State Election Commission.
The price list provided on behalf of the district administration shows the cost of water bottle, electricity, stage, hall etc. They complained to the district administration that it was too high compared to the market price. The district collector also set up a control room in Tirupur district today to enable voters to lodge election-related complaints in the assembly constituencies.
