Coimbatore: On March 1, DMK leader MK Stalin's birthday was celebrated all over Tamil Nadu. On behalf of the DMK Environment Team, DMK leader MK Stalin’s birthday was celebrated in a way that would enrich nature and benefit the people.
DMK Environment Team State Secretary Karthikeya Siva Senathipathi in a press release said that “The DMK Environment Team was created by the DMK leader because of his greatness and concern for nature and how it will benefit the environment. We have been transforming the leader's thoughts into actions since the day this special team was formed.

Accordingly, various arrangements have been made to celebrate the birthday of the DMK President on March 1st this year in a manner that benefits nature and the people. The first act was to set up 13 nurseries across the state through which all the native tree saplings were taken to the people.

With the help of DMK’s Environmental Team deputy secretaries in every district, the saplings from the nurseries were distributed among people. In the first phase, arrangements are being made to increase the number of nurseries in 13 places including Chennai, Kanchipuram, Tiruppur, Erode, Coimbatore, Dharmapuri, Madurai, Thanjavur and Kanyakumari, and then across Tamil Nadu.
Following this, a rainwater farm has been set up on behalf of the DMK Environment Team near Chinna Muthur area in the Kangayam area and it has been brought for public use. As a result, groundwater in the surrounding villages will rise and rainwater will be stored properly without wastage.
Further attempts are being made by the DMK Environmental Team to set up similar rainwater harvesting farms in many parts of Tamil Nadu. The Environment Team is delighted to launch such a charity event on DMK Leader MK Stalin’s birthday.” it said.
