Coimbatore: Election Commission of India has ordered its officials to set up election control rooms in all districts to monitor election irregularities and facilitate public complaints in the run-up to the announcement of Assembly elections in Tamilnadu.
An Election Control Room at the Coimbatore Collectorate came into operation today. Officers will be on duty 24 hours a day and a toll-free telephone number "1950" has been set up at the District Electoral Division Office to resolve doubts about the voter list.
Officials stated that “Voter ID card registration, hierarchical photo voter card printing and distribution can be done by contacting this number to know the details of the polling booth block, know about the election officials, register complaints or grievances.”
