Review meeting held on preparations for the Assembly elections under the chairmanship of the Tirupur District Election Officer
Coimbatore: A review meeting on the preparations for the Assembly elections was held at the Tirupur District Collectorate under the chairmanship of District Collector and District Election Officer Vijayakarthikeyan following the announcement of the date of the Assembly elections in Tamil Nadu and the implementation of the Rules of Conduct for Elections. Surveillance crews and flying squads were also present during the meeting.
Later, District Collector Vijayakarthikeyan told reporters that the rules of the State Election Commission were being duly complied with in the Tirupur district as the rules of conduct for the Assembly elections were in force.

He said the public should go with the relevant documents for the money they carry for their expenses and the authorities have been ordered to behave kindly while interrogating them. He also said that the confiscated money can be obtained immediately by showing the relevant documents to the special committee set up at the District Collector’s Office.
