In the 4 zones of Tirupur Corporation there are about 105 contract employees who work as drinking water suppliers. The drinking water suppliers are paid a monthly salary of ₹4705.
But the since the last 7 months the drinking water suppliers haven't been paid any salary. This led to a protest by the 30 contract staff of the 3rd zone at the entrance of the corporation office of the 3rd zone Tirupur.
The protestors also said that the protest will continue if the corporation doesn't provide and answer by the end of the day.
