Coimbatore Mayor Inspects Rs 95 Lakh School Construction at Ganesapuram

Coimbatore Corporation Mayor K. Ranganayaki Ramachandran inspected the ongoing construction of a middle school at Ganesapuram in the southern zone, valued at Rs 95 lakh. She directed officials to expedite the work and also reviewed anganwadi center facilities and a proposed bridge project.


Coimbatore: Mayor K. Ranganayaki Ramachandran conducted a field inspection today (19.08.2026) of the ongoing construction of Coimbatore Corporation Middle School at Ganesapuram in the southern zone, a project valued at Rs 95 lakh aimed at enhancing educational facilities in the area.

The middle school, located in Ward No. 100 at Ganesapuram, is being constructed using Corporation general funds. During her inspection, the Mayor examined the quality of construction work and instructed officials to expedite the completion of the project. She emphasized the importance of adhering to the stipulated timeline and ensuring that the construction meets quality standards.



Following the school inspection, Mayor Ranganayaki Ramachandran visited the anganwadi center operating at Sundharapuram, Kamarajar Nagar (K.V.K. Nagar) Corporation Primary School under Ward No. 97. She interacted directly with the children and inquired about the facilities being provided to them. The Mayor reviewed the functioning of the anganwadi center, including the distribution of nutritious meals to children and other welfare activities.



Subsequently, the Mayor inspected the proposed bridge construction project at Eechanari, Lindess Garden area under Ward No. 97. This bridge has been a long-pending demand of local residents. She held detailed discussions with officials regarding the location, cost estimation, and implementation plan for the bridge project, addressing the infrastructure needs of the community.

Deputy Mayor R. Vetriselvan, Executive Engineer Jacqueline, Ward 100 Councilor Karthikeyan, and Zonal Health Officer Andiyappan accompanied the Mayor during the inspection. Assistant Engineers Sabariraj, Raveena, and Natarajan, Health Inspector Balakumar, and several other Corporation officials also participated in the field visit.

The Coimbatore Corporation administration continues to prioritize education and infrastructure development across the city. Through the establishment of new schools, anganwadi centers, and bridges in the southern zone areas, the Corporation is taking significant steps to improve the quality of life for residents and provide better civic amenities.
