Police sub inspector was on a bike chase yesterdaychasing a criminal who attempted to rob an ATM.
Coimbatore: A man was trying to switch off the camera on an ATM machine in Saravanampatti area.
This incident was reported to the local police by the bank's head officials in Mumbai.
With the information, Saravanampatti police Sub Inspector Ilangeshwaran rushed to the ATM location on his motorcycle at 12.30 pm.
While crossing a speed beaker near a private complexe on Avinashi Road, Sub Inspector Ilangeshwaran's bike lost control after which he hit a sugarcane juice machine on the end of the road.
This incident caused injuries on his right leg but his bike which lost control caught fire suddenly. The bike was totally damaged in the accident. Sub Inspector Ilangeshwaran who rushed away from the bike was admitted at a private hospital nearby.
Meanwhile the man who tried to attempt stealing the ATM machine fled the area after seeing police patrol approaching in the area.
