Coimbatore: An old man was killed on the spot today morning when an elephant attacked him while he was walking towards a tea stall near Maruthamalai.


Coimbatore: An old man was killed on the spot today morning when an elephant attacked him while he was walking towards a tea stall near Maruthamalai.

The old man who worked as a watchman for the Law College near Maruthamalai was killed today morning while he was walking towards a tea stall.

It is said that the old man was on the road towards Maruthamalai looking for a tea stall. A male elephant which suddenly crossed the roads hit the old man which killed him on the spot.

During police investigation it was revealed that the man was Muhammad Niyas who hailed from Selvapuram.
