Coimbatore: Panchayat Secretary transferred following continuous complaints. Vasantha Gokilam has been working as Panchayat Secretary for the last 5 years in Narayanapuram Panchayat, Annur Union, Coimbatore District. Ward members Vadugapalayam Palanisamy and Alampalayam Rajamani from the panchayat lodged a complaint against him with the District Collector and the Panchayat Assistant Director with various allegations. Especially in the last five years the panchayat has given building permits to factories in violation of the rules. He was accused of fraud in the purchase of bleaching powder, abuse in the well cleaning work, and causing financial loss in tar road works.
Various complaints including and petitions a few weeks ago. They also sent a letter of complaint to the Anti-Corruption Department alleging abuse in the panchayat and amassing property and revenue. The District Collector investigated and ordered the Assistant Director of the Naranpuram Panchayat Secretary Vasantha Kokila to be transferred today. Kattampatti panchayat secretary has been transferred to Naranpuram panchayat which has caused a stir in the area.
