Request to set up an industrial park for micro entrepreneurs in the heart of Coimbatore
Coimbatore: The Executive Committee Meeting of the Tamil Nadu Industrial and Micro Entrepreneurs (TACT) Association was held todayunder the chairmanship of District Chairman James.

At that meeting, various resolutions were passed to set up a industrial park for micro-entrepreneurs in the heart of Coimbatore.
During the meeting District Chairman James said, "Businesses have been paralyzed for more than six months due to the coronavirus lockdown. The central government announced loan programs to protect businesses. With this loan scheme, there is no benefit to the more than 20,000 micro entrepreneurs who are doing job orders in Coimbatore alone. Therefore, the central government should immediately provide a subsidized loan scheme to help."
He added that, "Due to rising raw material prices, manufacturing companies have raised prices by up to 30 percent for the products they produce. Thus, public sector companies that have placed orders for small businesses will have to raise prices by up to 30 percent. For orders placed by small entrepreneurs, manufacturing companies the amount must be paid within 30 days. The central and state governments must take appropriate action for this."
District Chairman James said that about 20,000 small entrepreneurs are operating in rented buildings hence a industrial job park should be set up for small entrepreneurs in the heart of Coimbatore. He said that the government has to build apartment buildings. Demands were also put forward that the major parties should include this demand in their election manifestos.
