Traffic assistant commissioner recently made an announcement that Nanjappa Road is soon to be turned into a one way to avoid traffic congestion.
Coimbatore: Traffic Assistant Commissioner Mutharasu has announced that the Nanjappa Road will be turned into a one way road to avoid heavy traffic.
A meeting was held by Traffic assistant commissioner Mutharasu along with the presence of Highway department, Corporation officials, Government Bus department on plans to reduce traffic congestion in Coimbatore City.
Later when Traffic assistant commissioner Mutharasu met with the media abd said the following:
We are planning to make Nanjappa Road to Parkgate road as a one way to reduce traffic. Vehicles will be allowed to enter from Avinashi Road but will be allowed to return via Prison road towards VOC park.
Assistant Commissioner of Traffic Mutharasu said that since the road is to be changed as a one way road, the barricades on the center of the road will be removed. He also said that only Ganapathy no 3 busstand with be still in use. Busses will not be allowed to be parked there for a very long time.
The roadside shops from the textool bridge till Suriya hospital and roadstop Karumbukadai Busstop will be removed.
Assistant commissioner Mutharasu also said that the Omni buses are stopping at multiple places to pick up passengers and the Service providers have been informed that the parking area will be limited only to Lakshmi Mills Busstand Tidel Park.
He also said that the new barricades will be set from NavaIndia junction to Chinnaswamy road. Public pedestrian will be allowed only on the gaps on the Avinashi road.
Assistant Police Commissioner Mutharasu also mentioned about the Smart City works going on the road of RS Puram, DB road that has increased congestion. This has caused public to use the Cowley Brown road to Metupalayam road. He also assured that these works will be completed quickly.
