Coimbatore : A 16-foot-long King Cobra, weighing 20 kg entered a human habitat near Padavayal hamlet near Attapadi close to Tamil Nadu-Kerala border. The snake was rescued and released into the forest, officials said.

The cobra was noticed by a villager who alerted the Mukkali forest department who rushed to the spot and captured the snake with much care.

The forest officials said that the Cobra weighs around 20 kg and captured safely. They later released the reptile into dense forest areas in the same region.
