Ponnuchamy (63), a resident of Pogalur near Sirumugai, is a farm laborer. Last evening, while going to buy fertilizer, he died tragically on the spot when a lorry collided head-on with the motorcycle he was riding. The accident happened near Bogapur Pirivu on Annur-Mettupalayam Road. People nearby recovered his body and sent it to GH. Sirumugai police have registered a case and are investigating.
Similarly, in another road accident, Ddavid (40), a resident of Annur Manniswarar Darmar Temple Street area near Coimbatore, was going on a motorcycle to visit his friends yesterday when a car collided with his vehicle on Annur Road.
He sustained severe injuries to his head and was rushed to Coimbatore GH. The doctors who examined him declared him as dead on arrival.
Annur police have registered a case and are investigating the accident.
