Coimbatore: Vijayasankar, an ambulance driver working at Kannampalayam near Sulur, Coimbatore district was arrested and remanded for stabbing his wife, on Saturday.
According to reports, Vijayasankar and his wife Ranjita (25) along with their two kids were living at Sulur. Recently, in an altercation due to his alcoholic addiction, the couple seperated. Henceforth, Ranjita moved to her brother's place with her kids and was working in a textile showroom.in Gandhipuram area, here.
Meanwhile, Vijayasankar had visited her and requested to come along with him. However, Ranjita denied his proposal to compromise. Vijayasankar who had allegedly pre-planned to attack her, if she refuses, stabbed her with a knife and fled the spot.
Ranjitha was rescued by her neighbours and was shifted to government hospital for treatment.
The Singanallur police have registered a case against Vijaysankar in connection with the attempted murder. He was produced in the court and lodged in the Coimbatore Central Prison.
