Afterwards, Vanathi Srinivasan addressed the gathering and said that ordinary volunteers can attain a high position in the BJP and that the central government led by Prime Minister Modi has paved the way for the development of women and has accorded many privileges to them.
She said that the role of the women's wing is very crucial for the development of the party. She said that although BJP is criticized as a North Indian political party, it has magnanimously given her such a post despite her inability to converse in Hindi. She also proudly said that although the BJP has no MP or MLA in Tamil Nadu, the announcement of a woman from Tamil Nadu as the leader of the Women's Wing has confirmed the confidence that the BJP has in Tamil Nadu.
"Members of the Bharatiya Janata Party will definitely win in the coming 2021 assembly elections. Lotus will bloom for sure in Tamil Nadu and the Women's Wing will work tirelessly towards this," she said.
Later, Vanathi Srinivasan told reporters that all parties in Tamil Nadu have the right to conduct programmes on their own and antipathy that the opposition parties in TN have towards the Vel Yatra shows their apprehension about the programme.
The event was attended by BJP Vice President, Prof. Kanagasabapathy, former IPS Officer Annamalai, and State Treasurer Sekar who congratulated Vanathi Srinivasan in their speeches.
