Coimbatore: Man arrested for stabbing relative over suspicion of illicit affair with wife
Coimbatore: A man has been arrested and jailed near Madukkarai for stabbing a relative on suspicion of having an illicit affair with his wife.
Kalidas (35) hails from Madukkarai Arivoli Nagar area. He is working as an ambulance driver in a private hospital.
He fell in love with Praveena from the same area and married her. The couple has two children, a daughter and a son. Kalidas' cousin Rakesh, 29, who lives in the same area, works as a supervisor in a private company near Eachanari. It is alleged that Praveena and Rakesh had an affair. There had been frequent disputes between Kalidas and Rakesh over the issue.
In this condition, Rakesh came to Arivoli Nagar in his two wheeler after finishing work last night. Kalidas, who was waiting on the way, stopped Rakesh and entered into an argument with him. He then stabbed Rakesh with a knife he had concealed and fled the scene. Those present nearby rushed Rakesh to Coimbatore Government Hospital for treatment.
Later, the Madukkarai police, registered a case under 2 sections based on the complaint lodged by Rakesh and arrested Kalidas and are conducting an investigation.
