Coimbatore: Two men from PN Pudur in Vadavalli area drowned in the Chithrai Chavadi water channel after they allegedly attempted to click a selfie from the causeway. The fire and rescue personnel have retrieved the bodies of both the men.
Coimbatore: Two men from PN Pudur in Vadavalli area drowned in the Chithrai Chavadi water channel after they allegedly attempted to click a selfie from the causeway. The fire and rescue personnel have retrieved the bodies of both the men.
According to initial reports, Tamil Selvan (29) along with his friend Prabhakar had gone to Chithirai Chavadi area to celebrate the birthday of the former. While the duo were standing on a causeway at Kaikaati privu near Thondamuthur, they attempted to click selfie.
While doing so, Tamil Selvan allegedly slipped and fell into the water and drowned. Prabhakar who had jumped to save his friend also allegedly drowned in the water.
After an extensive search, the fire and rescue personnel retrieved the body of the friends from the water.
The corpse will soon be sent to Coimbatore Government hospital for autopsy.
