Tirupur: Education Minister Sengottaiyan had said more than 300 students can pursue medical education with 7.5 percent reservation in Tamil Nadu.
State Minister for Animal Husbandry Udumalai Radhakrishnan and School Education Minister Sengottaiyan were present at an event to issue accreditation orders to 571 private schools in 4 districts of Coimbatore, Tirupur, Erode, Nilgiris at Perumanallur.
Speaking to reporters after the event, the state school education minister said that accreditation for private schools is now valid for two years. He said that more than 300 government school students will be able to pursue medical education due to the 7.5 percent reservation brought by the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu to realize the medical dream of Tamil Nadu students.
He said that he has not consulted the CM yet con reopening of the schools. He said the Chief Minister will announce this in consultation with the Revenue Department, Public Welfare Department and School Education Department officials.
The event was attended by MLAs and school education officials.
