Coimbatore: Rajinikanth has said that campaigning for elections might affect his health and he shall discuss with Rajini Makkal Mandran and announce his political stand at the appropriate time.
Speaking on the alleged letter that leaked as his writing, he said that the letter was not his but the information regarding his health on it was true and hinted that he will announce his political stand at the right time.
Unlike his parallel Kamal Hassan whose candidates contested in the last Lok Sabha election, Rajikanth is yet to take formal entry in politics. Sources say that he will have online meetings with office bearers of his party in the coming days and may announce his decision in the last week of December or early January. The forthcoming election is expected to be his debut in politics but his statement now has made everyone doubt his intentions.
A letter which leaked online said that Rajinikanth is rethinking about his political career due to COVID-19. The letter indicated that doctors asked him to restrict his movements since he has a kidney condition and he could be more vulnerable to COVID-19. The doctors had advised that the vaccine is the only solution and they are not sure if his body would accept it.
Doctors have allegedly told him that since he had a kidney transplant, he is more vulnerableand too weak to campaign. In March, Rajinikanth had asserted that he would not contest the elections just to become Chief Minister and he genuinely wanted to see a positive change. Though he announced his decision to enter politics on December 31, 2017, people still remember his remarks in 1996. He said "not even God can save TN if Jayalalithaa comes to power again" which is touted as one of the main reasons for AIADMK's defeat in the election that year.
