Coimbatore: AIADMK cadres staged protests at various places in Coimbatore today condemning DMK youth leader Udayanithi Stalin.
Recently, defamatory posters about DMK leader Stalin, General Secretary Duraimurugan, MP Kanimozhi and Udayanithi Stalin were put up at various places in Coimbatore. A protest was held in Coimbatore on October 27, led by DMK youth leader UdayanithiStalin to condemn this.
Speaking during the protest, Udayanithi Stalin was harshly critical of Chief Minister Edappadi Palanisamy and Minister for Municipal Administration SP Velumani. Udayanithi Stalin was prosecuted under 7 sections including holding a meeting without the permission of the police department, slandering and spreading disease during the pandemic.
AIADMK Demonstration
In retaliation to Udayanithi Stalin's slanderous remarks against Minister SP Velumani, more than 10,000 people protested at more than 25 places in Coimbatore on behalf of the AIADMK, denouncing Udayanidhi Stalin and Coimbatore District DMK executives.
They chanted slogans condemning Udayanithi Stalin for slandering the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu and the Minister for Municipal Administration. They called the DMK a party known for corruption.
They carried placards that said "MP Raja and Kanimozhi will go to jail for 2G scam" and "What happened to the Sarkaria scam?
Meanwhile Singanallur MLA N. Karthik has raised the question, "Will the police that recently filed a case against the DMK for staging a protest in Coimbatore do so against the AIADMK?"
The protest by the ruling party against the opposition party has garnered the attention of many in the political arena.
