Light four-wheelers allowed on Ukkadam-Karumbukadai stretch from today

Coimbatore: Light four-wheelers allowed on Ukkadam-Karumbukadai stretch from today

Coimbatore: In view of the flyover construction going on for the last two years on the Ukkadam-Karumbukadai stretch, four-wheelers and heavy vehicles travelling from Ukkadam to the Karumbukadai have been taking a circuitous route of six kilometers across the Putuvikki Bridge.

Under the circumstances, as most of the flyover construction work is over, the roads under the flyover have been upgraded and a lane has been laid to make it accessible to light four wheelers.

Four-wheeler drivers are happy that the travel time from Ukkadam to Athupalam has been reduced.

However, at the same time, many motorists coming to Ukkadam through Karumbukadai are using the same road instead of the road adjacent to Ukkadam Periyakulam, causing heavy traffic congestion.
