Coimbatore: A case has been registered against DMK youth wing secretary Udhayanidhi Stalin at the Coimbatore Race Road Police Station under 5 sections for violating ban and protesting in Coimbatore.
A protest was held in front of the Coimbatore South Taluk Office, led by DMK Youth Secretary Udhayanidhi Stalin, demanding action against those who put up posters mocking DMK leader Stalin and condemning the police for filing a case against DMK youth groups for tearing down those posters.
More than a 1,000 DMK volunteers raised slogans condemning the AIADMK government and the police.
Under the circumstances, case under 5 sections including disturbing the public, non-compliance with social distancing, creating fear among rural students about NEET exams and disruption of public peace has been registered at the Coimbatore Race Road Police Station against 9 persons including DMK youth wing secretary Udhayanidhi Stalin, Karthik MLA, CR Ramachandran, Paiyaa Gounder, Senadhipathi, Thendral Selvaraj, Painthamil Pari, Kottai Abbas and Pollachi MP Shanmuga Sundaram.
An additional case under the sections of gathering without obtaining permission, setting up a stage without obtaining permission and obstructing traffic and the public, obstructing the police from working, spreading COVID infections without wearing face masks and following social distancing, and setting up flex banners on the stage and tarnishing the beauty of the city has been registered against Karthik MLA, Paiyaa Gounder, Senadhipathi, CR Ramachandran, Thendral Selvaraj, Shanmugasundaram MP, and Kottai Abbas.
