Man arrested for growing cannabis in Coonoor

Cannabis circulation has increased in the Nilgiris district recently. As a result, young students are becoming addicted to drugs and suffering.

In order to find a solution to this problem, police led by Deputy Superintendent of Police Suresh in Coonoor are conducting raids. Anbumani and Siva, both from the Siddhi Vinayagar Temple area in Coonoor, were arrested during a raid in the area last week and Vinod, a youth, was arrested for possession of cannabis.



Meanwhile, a team of police including Aruvangadu Police Inspector Philip including Aruvangadu Police Inspector Philip, on Monday arrested and jailed George, 42, of Upathalai Alorai village for growing cannabis in a garden in the old Aruvangadu area. It is to be noted that raids are being continuously conducted in the area.

Superintendent of Police Suresh said that the circulation of ganja will be completely curtailed in Coonoor and its surroundings.
