Coimbatore: Posters mocking DMK leader MK Stalin were torn down in Coimbatore.
Stalin has been announced as DMK's chief ministerial candidate for the 2021 assembly elections and Edappadi Palanisamy as AIADMK's. Since then, both parties have been campaigning through various platforms includingsocial media. Under the circumstances, posters mocking DMK leader Stalin and praising TN CM Edappadi Palanisamywere put up in areas including Gandhipuram and Ramanathapuram in Coimbatore.
Posters depicting DMK leader Stalin as 'Imsai Arasan 23rd Pulikesi' and DMK general secretary Durai Murugan as 'Manguni Amaichar' were seen on walls. There were posters that had the slogan, "Do you want a confident leader or a leader who relies on a piece of paper to read from?" Similarly, a few posters with the pictures of DMK leader Stalin, MP Kanimozhi, DMK youth wing leader Udayanithi Stalin and Edappadi Palanisamy had the question, "What would you believe in? Hard work or privileged birth?
The posters did not include details about the organization that posted them. Meanwhile, the posters stuck in Gandhipuram area have been torn down. The Kattoor police are investigating the matter.
