His wife Kavitha (38) and Thangaraj both were travelling on a two-wheeler when a snake crossed the road.
Seeing this, Thangaraj applied the brakes and both of them fell down from the two-wheeler. The snake that crossed the road bit Kavihta.Without knowledge about the snake bite, both of them got up and went home. The next morning Kavitha had severe pain in her hand.
They went to a nearby private hospital for treatment, thinking she might have injured herself when they fell. The doctor who examined her there said that Kavitha had been bitten by a poisonous snake in her hand and advised them to go to the government hospital for further treatment after first aid.
Following this, Kavitha was admitted to Coimbatore Government Hospital. Failing to respond to treatment, succumbed to the snake bite. Sulur police have registered a case and are investigating.
