Coimbatore: A total of 203 new CCTV cameras have been installed in the Podanur-Ramanathapuram area by order of the Coimbatore City Police Commissioner.
Coimbatore: A total of 203 new CCTV cameras have been installed in the Podanur-Ramanathapuram area by order of the Coimbatore City Police Commissioner.
Coimbatore City Commissioner of Police Sumit Sharan had ordered the installation of cameras in the area to prevent crimes on the Ramanathapuram Junction-Nanjundapuram Railway Flyover stretch under the Podanur police station. The police conducted an awareness meeting with Nanjundapuram, SNV Garden, Karpagam Garden, Netaji nagar, Ramalinga Jothinagar, Sreepathi nagar Residents' Welfare Associations,Parson Apartment, MayFlower Apartment and other business organizations in the area.
This was followed by the installation of 21 feet high iron pipes on Nanjundapuram Road, mainly with the contribution of SSVM School, Parson Apartments, VR Traders and other sponsors. A total of 60 cameras were installed on Nanjundapuram Main road. A total of 32 cameras were installed on behalf of the SNV Garden Residents Welfare Association as frequent thefts occur in Karpagam Garden situated on the road to Kallimadai.
A total of 203 cameras have been installed, including 16 cameras on behalf of the Karpagam Garden Residents Welfare Association, 16 cameras in the Netaji nagar residential areas, 5 cameras on the way to the Parson Antara and 54 cameras on behalf of Residents Welfare Association at the Sivaram Nagar area.
