Coimbatore transgender murder case: Accused confesses of alleged sexual torture led to murder
Coimbatore: In a latest development, the special team of police formed to nab the accused involved in the trans woman murder case have reportedly arrested a 23-year-old man from Nagapattinam.
According to sources, the man has confessed of the murder and further investigations are on.
Earlier on Wednesday, the Saibaba colony police retrieved the corpse of Trans woman Sangeetha (60) in a decomposed state at her residence in Saibaba Colony, NSR Road, Coimbatore. She was brutally murdered and dumped in a water drum.
Reports from police sources say that the arrested accused Rajesh (23),from Tharangambadi area in Nagapattinam district came to know about Sangeetha's Trans Kitchen venture through social media and had contacted her for a job. Sangeetha who enquired about the whereabouts of Rajesh has asked him to met her in Coimbatore. Ultimately, Rajesh has joined Trans Kitchen and has been working for the past 23 days.
Also, Rajesh, who worked in Trans Kitchen was reportedly staying along with Sangeetha at her residence near NSR road. Rajesh has also allegedly confessed that he murdered Sangeetha and dumped her body in a water drum and eloped to his native. While unconfirmed reports say sexual harrassment might be one of the reasons for murder, the police are yet to announce the exact reason for the murder and his confession.
Police investigation is underway.
