Wild elephant Sidda, who had sought refuge in the waters of Manchanabele reservoir for weeks after he fell into a ditch and injured himself, is critical. The partially-blind elephant is lying on his wounds and foresters' efforts to get him back on his legs went in vain on Tuesday. He is struggling to eat, has been vomiting and suffering from dehydration as well. "On Friday, we had removed half a kg of pus. Septicemia has set in," Dr KK Sharma of Assam Agricultural University said.
