Fake Narratives in Sulur Case: DMK Legal Wing Files Complaint Against Pro-TVK Social Media Handles

DMK Legal Wing has filed a criminal complaint with the DGP and Greater Chennai Police Commissioner against two individuals for circulating fabricated photos and misleading posts falsely linking the party to the Sulur minor girl death case.

Coimbatore: A criminal complaint has been filed with the Director General of Police, Tamil Nadu Police, and the Commissioner of Police, Greater Chennai, against two individuals accused of circulating fabricated photographs, forged content, and misleading social media posts related to the sensitive Sulur minor girl death case.

According to the complaint, the accused allegedly attempted to spread tension and hatred among the public by falsely claiming that one of the accused in the Sulur case was a DMK functionary. The complaint alleges that pro-TVK social media handles have been instrumental in spreading these false narratives.

DMK Legal Wing advocate P Wilson has reportedly initiated formal legal proceedings seeking strict action against those responsible. The complaint demands preservation of digital evidence, custodial interrogation of the accused, and immediate removal of unlawful content from social media platforms. Separate civil proceedings seeking damages are also being contemplated against the individuals involved in spreading the misinformation.

Meanwhile, senior DMK leader and DMK Organising Secretary RS Bharathi strongly condemned the fake narratives and morphed photographs allegedly being spread through pro-TVK social media handles. The fabricated content reportedly attempts to link one of the accused in the Sulur minor girl rape and murder case with Udhayanidhi Stalin, DMK's youth wing secretary and opposition leader.

Condemning the alleged attempts to defame the party through fabricated claims and misinformation, Bharathi warned that those spreading fake news and toxic narratives online would face serious legal consequences.
