FICCI, CODISSIA and NSE Host Workshop on Unlocking Growth Through Capital Markets and IPOs

Industry leaders and financial experts highlighted the growing importance of capital markets and IPOs as powerful tools for MSME expansion, business scalability and long-term sustainability during a workshop jointly organised by FICCI, CODISSIA and NSE in Coimbatore.


Coimbatore: In a significant initiative aimed at empowering emerging businesses and MSMEs, Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry and Coimbatore District Small Industries Association, in association with National Stock Exchange of India, jointly organised a high-impact workshop titled “Idea to IPO: Gateway to Growth through Capital Markets” at Hotel Zone by The Park, Coimbatore.

The workshop focused on creating awareness among entrepreneurs and business leaders on leveraging capital markets as a strategic tool for expansion, scalability and long-term sustainability.

Addressing the gathering, CODISSIA President Karthikeyan said the initiative was designed to bridge innovative business ideas with capital market opportunities and help enterprises access structured growth pathways through public funding mechanisms.

NSE Senior Vice President Krishnan Iyer delivered an insightful session on practical approaches for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) to raise capital through the stock market. Highlighting the growing relevance of SME IPOs, he said capital markets offer immense opportunities for expansion, liquidity enhancement, improved corporate credibility and stronger business visibility.

He further noted that listing through IPOs not only strengthens organisational value but also helps companies attract and retain skilled talent by enhancing transparency and investor confidence.

In her welcome address, Swathy Rohit, Past Co-Chairperson of the FICCI Tamil Nadu State Council, emphasised the increasing importance of IPOs, particularly for family-owned businesses looking to scale operations and diversify growth opportunities.

She also highlighted Coimbatore’s strong entrepreneurial ecosystem spanning manufacturing, engineering, textiles and technology sectors, stressing the need for businesses in the region to explore capital markets for accelerated growth.

A panel discussion featuring leading financial and market experts provided detailed insights into the IPO ecosystem, regulatory framework and investor expectations.

The panel included Sainath Gharse, Senior Executive Vice President – South India, Kotak Mahindra Bank; Mohit Baid, Director, GYR Capital Advisors Pvt Ltd; Giridhar, General Manager, Integrated Registry Management Services Pvt Ltd; and Senthil Murugan, Chief Manager, NSE.

The experts elaborated on legal and compliance requirements for IPOs, stages involved in preparing a company for public listing, valuation strategies and methods to enhance market credibility and long-term business value.

The session concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Savio Mathew, Additional Director, FICCI, who appreciated the collaborative efforts of all stakeholders in organising the knowledge-driven event aimed at strengthening the MSME and startup ecosystem in the region.
