Ahead of Diwali AIDWA urges authorities to ensure fair price shops are stocked with necessary essentials

The members of All India Democratic Women’s Association (AIDWA) today staged a protest to highlight the non-availability of sugar, grains in the fair price shops. Fair price shops are facing a shortage of essential commodities. A source shares that export of essential commodities by the central government to foreign countries without considering the demand in the local market is the reason for unavailability of the commodities in our local market.

“Tamil Nadu chief minister is under treatment and O.Panneerselvam the acting chief minister is not taking any action for the welfare of the people. The ministers and concerned authorities should call for a meeting immediately and should make necessary arrangements for the Diwali commodities to be available in fair price shops. Otherwise people will be forced to celebrate this Diwali with only water.” one of the members of the AIDWA said.

Association's assistant head of the state Amirtham lead the agitation. Amudha, president of Coimbatore branch of AIDWA, Secretary Radhika, treasurer Jothimani and many other participated in the protest.
