Corporation Commissioner distributes safety equipment to sanitary workers



Under a scheme that has been sanctioned by the Chief Minister J Jayalalitha, the Coimbatore City Municipal Corporation (CCMC), Commissioner, Dr. Vijay Karthikeyan today distributed safety equipment to the sanitary workers.



Materials worth rupees 36,13,210 were handed over to 2,740 permanent employees of the CCMC this morning. They included safety masks, gloves, caps, reflector jackets and boots. Apart from these rain coats worth Rs.3,93,810 were handed over to 101 supervisors of the CCMC. About 43 mosquito repellent spraying machines worth Rs 32,01,805 were also distributed to the sanitary workers.
