Tirupur: Minister Udumalai Radhakrishnan after the review meeting held at the Tirupur collectorate said that Migrant workers in Tirupur do not want to go back but to resume work. Minister spoke to the press about the situation in Tirupur with regard to Corona.
"So far, 112 people have been diagnosed with coronavirus in Tirupur district. As of yesterday, 91 people recovered and returned home. Today 10 people will be returning home after treatment. Restrictions in certain areas will be lifted after inspection. We will follow the CM's order for the next phase of preventive measures in Tirupur", the Minister said.
Regarding the migrant workers in Tirupur, Udumalai Radhakrishnan stated that the other state workers in Tirupur were requesting job opportunities and none of them requested to go home. He also added that from Jammu to Kerala, Tirupur has 127742 other state workers. "All these workers had requested to resume work and none wanted to return home. Necessary action will be taken in this regard after due consideration", stated the minister.
Udumalai Radhakrishnan further added that adequate testing has been done in Tirupur district, and yesterday alone 120 people were tested. The next phase of action will be based on the CM's announcement during the next cabinet meeting.
