Tirupur: The city Police on Wednesday booked 242 cases following heavy traffic on the Tirupur Kumaran Road as the three days complete lockdown was lifted.

As many as 120 two wheelers and 20 cars have been seized by the police.
The complete lockdown that was imposed in the Tirupur Corporation came to an end yesterday and all grocery stores, vegetable shops and meat shops have reopened today.
As a result of this, people have stepped outdoors to purchase essentials thereby causing heavy traffic in some areas. The Tirupur Kumaran Road was packed with vehicles.
Though the complete lockdown has been lifted, people are still expected to follow the regulations laid out and can step out only to buy essentials. Only one person can travel on a two wheeler.

The police therefore checked the vehicles and the violators were charged with cases and violating vehicles were seized.
The police have also warned the people not to step out without any essential reason.
