Over 300 stalls exhibit modern knitwear equipment in Tirupur

Tirupur: The annual exhibition for machinery required for the production of knitwear in Tirupur was held today. More than 300 stalls of Indian and overseas companies were held at a private hotel in Kangeyam Road in Tirupur.


Tirupur: The annual exhibition for machinery required for the production of knitwear in Tirupur was held today. More than 300 stalls of Indian and overseas companies were held at a private hotel in Kangeyam Road in Tirupur.



This is one of the exhibitions that is held annually in Tirupur, More than 300 stalls of companies displayed printing, tailoring and washing units etc. 



As a new arrival in the printing industry, modern machines that print at high speed were introduced. Sakthivel, Vice President of Apparel Export Promotion Council (AEPC) inaugurated the exhibition.



Addressing the reporters Sakthivel, Vice President of Apparel Export Promotion Council said, "With all the machinery required for the knitwear production being showcased in this exhibition, it is convenient for knitwear manufacturers to learn more about the machines. This exhibition is very helpful as manufacturers from Tirupur have to compete with manufacturers of foreign countries and to manufacture fashion garments".

"Moreover, it is customary for the Central Govt to subsidize 15 to 20 percent of the purchase of modern machinery for knitting. But with 7,000 applications pending for subsidies for the machines, the central govt must take action to expedite them" he added. A large number of exporters and knitwear manufacturers participated in the event.
