Coimbatore Corporation is organizing Lok Kalyan Mela special camps from September 7 to 25 across five zonal offices to provide bank loans to street vendors. Commissioner Katta Ravi Teja IAS announced that vendors can participate with identity card, Aadhaar, and bank passbook to avail financial assistance and training benefits.
Coimbatore: A special Lok Kalyan Mela camp will be organized for street vendors in Coimbatore Corporation areas to facilitate bank loans from Monday, September 7 to Friday, September 25. The camp will operate from 10 AM to 5 PM, excluding Sundays and public holidays, announced Corporation Commissioner Katta Ravi Teja IAS.
The special camps will be conducted at all five zonal offices of Coimbatore Corporation. In the East Zone, camps will be set up at the East Zonal Office, Saravanampatti Community Hall, Kalapatti, Uppilipalayam, and Cheranma Nagar ward offices. In the West Zone, the camps will be held at the West Zonal Office and ward offices in Vadavalli, Kavundampalayam, Velandipalayam, and Anna Market.
In the South Zone, camps will be organized at the South Zonal Office and ward offices in Selvapuram, Pothanur, Kurichi, and Coimbatore Pudur areas. In the North Zone, facilities will be available at the North Zonal Office and ward offices in Aavarampalayam, Gandhimanagar, Saravanampatti, and Thudiyalur. In the Central Zone, camps will be set up at the Head Office, Ramanatapuram Community Hall, Gandhipuram, Sivananda Colony, and Rathinapuri ward offices.
Street vendors can participate in this camp with their identity card, Aadhaar card, and bank account passbook to obtain bank loans. Food vendors will be given opportunities to receive awareness training from the Food Safety Department and obtain licenses. Additionally, vendors can participate in the camp to benefit from digital payment systems and join online financial transactions, informed Commissioner Katta Ravi Teja IAS.
