Coimbatore: Foresters of the Periyanaickenpalayam Range on Friday, detained two suspected hunters who possessed single barrel country gun and handed them over to Periyanaickenpalayam police on Friday.

According to sources, a team headed by Forest Range Officer Suresh were on patrol near Kattanji hill road around 4.00 am. They had spotted two men riding a two wheeler and stopped them.
The men were identified as R. Ranjith Kumar (22) from Goundampalayam and B. Jindha (22) from Narikkurava Colony in Karamadai. They were carrying a single barrel gun without a license and accepted to have planned to hunt hares from a nearby patta land.
Ranjith Kumar, was earlier involved in wildlife crime in Karamadai Range. Both of them were detained and were handed over to Periyanaickenpalayam police for investigation.
