As part on the ongoing “Aadi Velli” celebrations, the main deity at Makaliamman temple in Raja Street was decorated with varieties of fruits weighing about two tonnes.

From morning, the devotees waited in long queues to seek the blessings of the deity, decorated in 27 varieties of fruits, including Mangosteen, Apples, Grapes, Pomegranate, Dates, Mango, Durian and others.
The colorful decoration of the deity bearing fruits garnered the attention of the devotees who were in all praise for the crown worn by the deity embedded with Pomegranate seeds.
Prasadhams wee provided to all devotees.
