Three including Finance Firm employee held for cheating firm of nearly ₹4.69 Cr

Coimbatore: An employee of Bajaj Finance Ltd. and a couple from the city were arrested for defrauding the finance company to the tune of Rs. 4.69 crores.


Coimbatore: An employee of Bajaj Finance Ltd. and a couple from the city were arrested for defrauding the finance company to the tune of Rs. 4.69 crores.  

V Shekar, a resident of Avarampalayam, Coimbatore runs a motor pump set manufacturing company. V Sekar and his wife Ramya mortgaged their properties with Bajaj Finance Ltd. and borrowed Rs, 4.69 crores from Bajaj Finance Ltd. Since the couple had not repaid the loan, Bajaj Finance Ltd. initiated steps against the husband-wife duo as per the Sarfaesi Act on the property.



The company also appointed N Vinod, a resident of Paramathi Velur, Namakkal as the Operations team manager for the case. Meanwhile, Vinod reportedly joined hands covertly with the couple and returned their property documents to them which resulted in Bajaj Finance Ltd. being defrauded to the tune of Rs. 4.69 crores.

Based on the complaint lodged by Jejeesh Kumar, the Regional Collection Manager at the Coimbatore District Crime Branch, Sumit Sharan, the Commissioner of Police ordered a further probe into the case. 

Based on his orders, the Assistant Commissioner, Perumal supervised the investigation which was being done by a team led by the Joint Commissioner Chandrasekaran, Sub Inspectors K Jamuna and Renuka Devi, following which the three fraudsters were arrested and remanded in judicial custody.
