Tirupur: The Tirupur police arrested Ramesh Kumar (33) of Arul Jothi Nagar on charges of stabbing his wife to death.
Ramesh Kumar (33), a resident of Arul Jothi Nagar near T.M.S Nagar married Priya (31) ten years ago. The couple had a son and daughter. Owing to marital discord, the couple had been living separately for a few months. While Priya lived with her mother in Tirupur, Ramesh Kumar continued to live in Arul Jothi Nagar with his mother.
On the pretext of discussing a reconciliation between them, Ramesh Kumar invited Priya to his house at Arul Jothi Nagar. It is reported that while the couple were talking in the presence of Ramesh Kumar's brother, a heated argument arose between the couple. In a fit of rage, Ramesh Kumar stabbed his wife brutally. Hearing the screams, neighbours rushed to the spot and overpowered Ramesh Kumar. They also immediately informed the Tirupur North Police station.
The police who arrived at the spot rushed Priya to the Tirupur Headquarters Hospital in the police vehicle, but sadly Priya succumbed to her injuries on the way to the hospital. The police later arrested Ramesh Kumar and further investigations are on.
