Coimbatore District Administration seals an organic fertilizer company for low-quality products

Coimbatore: An organic fertilizer company which operated without a license in Jaminuthukkuli near Pollachi was sealed by the District Administration for manufacturing low-quality products.

Coimbatore: An organic fertilizer company which operated without a license in Jaminuthukkuli near Pollachi was sealed by the District Administration for manufacturing low-quality products. 

In a press release, the District Collector K Rajamani stated, "On receiving information that an organic fertilizer company named 'Green India Biotech' was manufacturing low-quality organic fertilizers, a flying squad including the Pollachi Divisional Revenue Officer, Zonal Officer and a team of officers from the Agriculture Department inspected the company. 

It was found that the company was operating without a license and was manufacturing low-quality fertilizers under a commercial name. 184 sacks each weighing 40 kgs, named Green India Biotech and 10 sacks named as Micro Food which are microbial fertilizers was confiscated. The company was then sealed by officials for manufacturing low quality and adulterated fertilizers. 

The samples of the fertilizers confiscated have been sent to fertilizer labs to check for its quality. The distribution centres which sold these fertilizers are also being inspected. Following this, an inspection is to be done in all such facilities to ensure quality. The District Collector has warned strict action against industries that operate without a license and manufacture low-quality products.
