Coimbatore: A spinning mill owner's house in the Race Course area of the city was looted of Rs.2 crore worth diamonds, gold and Rs.17 lakhs in cash by a trusted employee who was in charge of the house in the absence of the owner.
Coimbatore: A spinning mill owner's house in the Race Course area of the city was looted of Rs.2 crore worth diamonds, gold and Rs.17 lakhs in cash by a trusted employee who was in charge of the house in the absence of the owner.
Sailesh Ethiraj, a mill owner from the Race Course area had planned to travel to Bangalore with his family and hence reportedly handed over the responsibility of his house to a trusted employee, Prakash Kumar from Jharkhand who had been working for Sailesh for nearly five years.
On returning from Bangalore on Wednesday, Sailesh was shocked to see his house in disarray. Suspecting foul play, he checked his security vault and noticed that both diamond and gold ornaments, as well as 17 lakhs cash were missing. Sailesh immediately registered a complaint at the Race Course police station. A special team has been formed to nab Prakash Kumar who is absconding. An investigation is expected to be held after collecting the CCTV footage from the neighbourhood.
