Coimbatore: The District Collector, K Rajamani provided welfare assistance of Rs. 1.35 lakhs to differently abled beneficiaries at the Special Grievance Camp organised through the Welfare of Differently Abled, on Wednesday.
Coimbatore: The District Collector, K Rajamani provided welfare assistance of Rs. 1.35 lakhs to differently abled beneficiaries at the Special Grievance Camp organised through the Welfare of Differently Abled, on Wednesday.
The special Grievance Camp was held at the District Collectorate. Ramadurai Murugan, District Revenue Officer, Thangamani, District Differently Abled Welfare Officer, Amudan, Deputy Collector of Social Security Scheme and other higher Government officials participated in the Camp.
The District Collector received 371 petitions on various claims that include bank loans for the differently abled, monthly stipend, employment, support equipment and national identity card. K Rajamani received the petitions and directed the concerned Department officials to take immediate action within the stipulated time. After reviewing the petitions received, immediate solutions were provided to 55 beneficiaries. A wheelchair, hearing aids, Braille clock, black glasses, crutches and foot rests were provided.
10 beneficiaries were provided with wheelchairs costing Rs. 5,910 each and totaling Rs. 59,100. 16 beneficiaries were provided with a Braille watch costing Rs. 1,150 each and totaling Rs. 18,400, 16 beneficiaries were provided with black glasses worth Rs.150 each and totaling Rs. 2,400, eight beneficiaries received hearing aids worth Rs.6,475 each and totaling Rs. 51,800, foot rests worth Rs.600 each was provided to two beneficiaries totaling Rs.1,200, two crutches worth Rs. 400 was provided to two beneficiaries totaling Rs. 800, a go cart worth Rs.1,750 was granted to one beneficiary, with the total estimate of the welfare schemes costing Rs.1,35,000 for 55 beneficiaries.
The District Collector also issued an order to provide National Identity Card to 35 beneficiaries and maintenance allowance for eight beneficiaries.
