The Nilgiris : Tea farmers in Nilgiris are overjoyed at the brisk online sale of all the tea produce at the Auction Centre. 



On July 30, at the Coonoor Co-operative Tea Leaves Auction Centre, 2,34,902 kilos of tea leaves and 2,45,158 kilos of dust tea was up for sale which is 95,436 kilos higher than the auction on July 29. While 100 percent of the tea leaves produce was easily sold, the dust variety weighing 2,40,563 kilos was also reportedly sold quicker. All 15 tea industries under the Co-operative sold 100 percent of their tea dust.



The inflow of tea produce from Kundha, Salisbury and Pandalur tea factory was on the rise. The inflow of tea dust produce from Salisbury was at 42,844 kilos which was worth Rs.32,53,881. In the auction, this was sold for Rs.3,37,57,307. With an increase of Rs.1.60 over the average rate of Rs.71, tea farmers indeed had enough reason to rejoice.
