Coimbatore: With the first week of August celebrated as 'World Breastfeeding Week,' the PSG College of Nursing and PSG Hospitals have lined up week-long awareness sessions from August 1- 7 on the theme of 'Empower Parents and Enable Breastfeeding.'
Coimbatore: With the first week of August celebrated as 'World Breastfeeding Week,' the PSG College of Nursing and PSG Hospitals have lined up week-long awareness sessions from August 1- 7 on the theme of 'Empower Parents and Enable Breastfeeding.'
Stressing on the theme, various activities are being scheduled to focus on getting both parents educated and empowered to realize their breastfeeding goals. A press release from the hospital stated, "To start with a bang, a poster exhibit to enlighten the public on the benefits of breastfeeding is lined up at PSG Hospitals, including a peppy dialogue with working moms, a quiz program for moms, a 'Rap' session with fathers and caretakers of postnatal mothers and more."
"Furthermore, to capture the voice of the public, a video shoot on “Breastfeeding–Public perspective” is being organized at the Fun Republic Mall. Echoes of importance of breastfeeding will be aired in every nook and corner of the city through our Radio frequency PSG FM 107.8. Also a mass cognizance on breastfeeding is programmed at Vedapatti, PSG Health Centre. We invite all to walk in and be a part of our voyage in empowering parents and enabling breastfeeding," added the release from the PSG Hospitals.
Dr. Harini from the Department of Yoga and Naturopathy, Lactation Counsellor at PSG Hospitals and Dr. A Jayasudha, Principal, PSG College of Nursing will be hosting the shows.
